UPDATE AFTER THE WORLD ORCHID CONFERENCE IN SINGAPORE, NOVEMBER 2011
An enormous thank you to all those who came to the Early Career event on the Sunday of the conference - and participated to the meeting and introduced themselves. I had a lot of very positive feedback from people after the meeting and after the conference itself about how useful it was for people to meet others and get talking about their own work.
Let's try and do something like this at as many international orchid meetings/conferences as possible - I can't get to all of them (I'm lucky if I get to one every year or two!) but if people would like a good excuse to hold a formal or informal meeting or a social event to get people interacting, under the auspices of this group, please do! Please post details and ideas up on the website in the forums, and others can join in and help if needed.
Please keep posting information, messages, and ideas on the forum section of the website - without lots of people contributing small amounts regularly, it will not work so effectively. I'm gradually putting items up there, but it needs to be from lots of people, all over the world, introducing themselves in the 'Research' forum, posting ideas and information about funding, employment, fieldwork opportunities, as and when people hear about them.
